From the Chair
On the heels of another successful fall conference the AFMA board and its new members are not wasting any time getting to work on plans for 2013.
Hello everyone, my name is Troy Davis and I am pleased to be serving as the AFMA Chairman for the next two years. We have a lot of work to do in continuing the success we have seen over the last few years and I would like to take a moment and thank our Past Chairman Richard Penn for his leadership and guidance over the last two years.
As this organization progresses, it continues to build on success largely attributable to the leadership of AFMA. I appreciate your trust in allowing me to lead AFMA over the next two years and although I have some big shoes to fill, I am confident that together this board will be highly successful.
Many thanks to everyone that attended the 2012 AFMA Fall Conference. Click here for a look at the fun we had while learning ways to mitigate flood hazards in our communities. The new board members have already begun planning for another great spring workshop in 2013. Mark your calendars now as we return to Jacksonville, Arkansas April 18-19.
The new board will hold its first meeting at the end of this month in Conway. Please feel free to contact your regional representative if you have any questions or specific training needs. The five regional representatives are members of the AFMA board and were elected by caucus from among attendees at the fall conference in each of your regions.
These fine folks are here to serve you. We also need your input to prepare quality training that will be most beneficial to you.
It's membership renewal time! All AFMA memberships expire on December 31, 2012. Please take a moment now and renew your membership by clicking here. It's quick, it's easy, and you'll be glad you did it.
Here's to a wonderful fall season and another successful year in floodplain management for everyone! I am always available if you would like to visit. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if I can be of assistance to you and your community.
