Registration is underway for this annual event you don't want to miss! The spring workshop is a mid-year technical supplement for the seasoned floodplain manager and serves as a great introduction to floodplain management for those new to the business. Class workshops cover a variety of topics and typically include the following:
  • How to read a flood map.

  • Common community floodplain management problems and solutions.

  • Floodplain management best practices.

  • Ordinance enforcement procedures.

  • And much, much more!

In anticipation of spring our thoughts turn toward warmer weather and the annual AFMA spring technical workshop. Now is the time to review your floodplain master plan, to clean your ditches and to promote mitigation efforts.
And that's what we'll discuss at the spring technical workshop. I am pleased to announce that registration is now open for this annual event that will take place at the Jacksonville Community Center April 18 19. Join us for a day-and-a-half workshop that covers a variety of topics you won't want to miss!
