The annual spring workshop is a mid-year technical supplement for the seasoned floodplain manager and serves as a great introduction to floodplain management for those new to the business. Class workshops cover a variety of topics and typically include the following:

  • How to read a flood map.

  • Common community floodplain management problems and solutions.

It’s workshop week here at AFMA as many of us in the organization prepare to converge on the city of Jacksonville for our annual mid-year technical gathering at the Jacksonville Community Center.
The program begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 26 with a special welcome from the city of Jacksonville. Registration opens at 9:30 and if you have yet to let us know you will be attending, there is still time to do just that.
Although you are on your own for lunch and dinner, several new restaurants have opened in the vicinity of the Jacksonville Community Center that are convenient. Click here for a map of these locations.
On behalf of the AFMA board, we wish everyone a pleasant trip to and from Jacksonville, and look forward to visiting with as many of you as possible at the 2007 spring workshop.
